Ubuntu LiveCD Resolutions messed up. Makes it impossible to insta

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to install ubuntu 7.04 (I don't have a CD burner), and I boot the live CD and the screen cuts off the bottom of the installatioin window (where all the buttons are).

System specs:

2.4 P4

2 GB RAM

Nvidia 6200

The monitor I'm on is a 1024x768 CRT from a compaq presario we bought in 1996 :(

Please help.

A higher version or what?

The "alternate" CDs don't do the install from a Live environment. They are traditional Linux install CDs, where you boot it, and it starts the process.

If you can still start the installer (by clicking on the desktop icon that says 'install'), then you can install it and it probably will fix the video issue.

If a dialogue box is partly off screen, you can hold down the ALT key and then click the mouse to move that dialogue box to where you can see the buttons on that dialogue box (the ones down at the bottom, like 'Next'). I had to do that when installing on my Asus eeePC which has a screen height of 480.
