Iain
Hi all, Hoping someone can either help, or post this on a PS3 forum for me (can't register atm)... I'll say everything, just as it might be related to any part of what I was doing... For some reason, a few times now, I've had my BT headset and my pad die on me at the same time during gaming in RFoM. The headset will then not work at all, as it shows that it's connected, even though it's not. So, I have to shut the PS3 down, and when I try to bring it back up with my pad (even though I shut it down with the pad - having to plug the USB lead in), it won't do anything! I have to use the power button on the PS3... Does my PS3 need replacing???
Ricardo Gil
Probably not, my Nokia BT100 doesn't work either, when I try to use it it just locks the console for about a minute. Try using another headset.
Iain
You reckon it's down to the headset? That's a bit crap then really! Bluetooth is Bluetooth at the end of the day, so all of them should work! It works fine, and it happens randomly. For example, I had been playing for like 4 hours and it happened, but then yesterday it happened as soon as I went into the game, pretty much. Just went to turn my PS3 on just now btw, and the pad was yet again not assigned to the PS3. It eventually turned on when I had the USB plugged in, but even then it took a few go's! Ricardo Gil
You're still lucky to have it play for a few ours, I've resorted to usb headsets now... :) Yeah, as a standard BT headsets should all work, but unfortunately that isn't the case. Most do work fine, but not all of them. There are many strange things related to controllers and BT. Sometimes they lock, then there's the issue with some controllers disconnecting when idle and others not. My friend has a JPN PS3 and his controllers disconnect after a while if idle. Mine is a 60GB EUR and my controller doesn't power off when idle. Maybe future FW updates will fix this.
Iain
Hmmm, weird. This is the first issue I've had with my PS3. I've just played it for about 8 hours and had no issues in that time (except for getting disconnected for no reason from PSN...) I'll just have to live with it I guess, but when you're right in the middle of a like 2 hour game or something, it's really annoying... Especially if it's such a good game you can't get back in again!
r0c
a bit off topic but what BT headset do you guys recommend ?
Iain
Anything that isn't a cheapo brand one. I've got a Samsung one, and it's clear. My brother has a cheap one, and it makes a buzzing sound all the time.
Iain
Seems it's quite a common problem with headsets! E.G: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstatio...read.id=2748664 Although mine isn't me trying to connect or disconnect my headset during a game... It just happens during a game for no reason. Works, then just doesn't. Stupid bluetooth. I'm going to hardwire my PS3 controller now, as that's all I can do. Can't keep DCing when I'm in a major 2 hour game of R:FoM!
