Linksys WRT350N throughput issues

Let's get some hardware out the way:

IBM Thinkpad T60 with 802.11N Wifi card (Draft N 2.0) 1Gbps Ethernet

Desktop - 1Gbps LAN card

Linksys WRT350N (1.03.7 firmware - Draft N 2.0) with Gigabit switch

I had all intentions to use the desktop as a media server but it just doesn't seem to be working out that way. As you can see from the following pics i get good speeds when uploading but downloading is crappy. I know the router doesn't have 5Ghz band for FULL N speeds (300Mbps) but stated speeds of 130Mbps (or "SuperG" speeds) should be sufficient.

I forgot to do a screenshot doing LAN - LAN but trust me, it's faster - I get 12-16MB/s then.

Anyone have any idea as to why downloads are so slow over WIFI?

NOTE: Router is set to Mixed mode (B/G/N) but i'm the only N client connected. I only keep it there for when friends come over they can connect. It doesn't make a difference in speed if i set it to N mode only.

NOTE 2: I notice that with the router locked in G Mode ONLY i get 2MB/s both ways which is better than N mode gets as you see.

I haven't tested it on any other N capable router so i'm not sure but i'm trying to keep an open mind with that still :) Oh and yeah - i know it's only Draft 2.0 spec so it's not final but there must be something else going on. There are only 2 other networks i "see" around here on Ch6 and Ch11 ... mine is on CH1 but no matter the channel i still get issues.
