James Rassel
Dear Fluxbox users, I am a new member in this Forum. I have recently moved into Fluxbox & install the version 0.9.15.1. I am facing font problem. After setting the Theme Style (Artwiz), the font doesn't change. Actually the font doesn't change for other theme also. It shows always the default font (I guess). I have all the fonts installed in the system at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/* I change according to the following.. *Font: -*-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-*-*-*-100-*-*-*-*-*-* >> *Font: glisp !*Font: vera-7 Can you please help me ? Si Veteran Posted April 11, 2008 Veteran Share Posted April 11, 2008 Hi James and welcome to Neowin! I'm going to move this into our Linux area where hopefully someone who knows more than me about it can help you :) Moved here
markwolfe Veteran Posted April 11, 2008 Veteran Share Posted April 11, 2008 I'm not a font expert, but I am pretty familiar with Fluxbox. What distro are you using? How did you install flux? (did you use fluxbuntu or DSL, or did you use another distro and "apt-get" flux?) How did you install your fonts (via package manager, or did you copy in files directly)? Are you are trying any themes that aren't included by default install?
Elv13
Installing fluxbox 1.0 may fix the problem, you can probably find a package for your distribution (probably in unstable for every debian based distro)
markwolfe Veteran Posted April 11, 2008 Veteran Share Posted April 11, 2008 ^^ Good catch, meaning that this was probably installed manually from a deb or rpm file. Maybe some similar type of installation was done for his fonts. As far as different versions of Flux go, it should make almost zero difference, as font rendering is an X task, not a Window Manager task.
