+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted April 19, 2008 Author Subscriber² Share Posted April 19, 2008 Because they/we don't wanna spent hours on those lame registration or download menus. Well just wait till later and don't put yourself through it. No one said you have to spend 5 hours on friday trying to register when as I said, the beta isn't out till monday. You spend hours trying to register, then what? Sit and stare at a menu for 3 days? Of course if there wasn't server issues, you'd register early for the sake of it, but as there is server issues, why not just wait it out when time is on your side? I haven't even tried registering yet, and I only started updating to 1.01 today. If we still can't register tomorrow/early on monday, then there is more cause for concern as people can't play when they should be able to play - Right now though, you can't play and one of the reasons Konami have staged it like this, is to allow for the hammering the servers were going to take. Sethos
You don't register to stare at anything, you do it because you wanna get it done. Come Monday their servers are probably getting twice as hammered because the sensible people figured they'd wait until Monday as well. But we'll see ... I don't wanna go through a 5-Hours registration process creating 50 new accounts when the game is up and running, by then i wanna play! There's a reason why the registration process is open now ... I doubt that with the amount of noise it's created over the gaming world! There's a reason the servers went down - Because just about everyone was trying to register early/at once. As I said as long as I can get registered before monday/on monday, but preferably before, I see no reason to go ape as all you get to do just now is sit and stare at menus. That's why I say, if it doesn't work right now, don't spend "5 hours" trying and then come and complain - You only wasted your own time :p Give it a go every few hours or so. I'll give it a go registering today after my update is done - At around 60% now. Edited April 19, 2008 by Audioboxer
Sethos
The same reason it's open before monday for about 5 days in total, you can register any one of these days. That's the problem, some people really ... can't - You have to put up with tons of error messages and hammered servers, so we really don't know when we have a frustration-free day to register. I doubt that with the amount of noise it's created over the gaming world! :laugh:There's a reason the servers went down - Because just about everyone was trying to register early/at once. Yes, i know what you mean - If the thing isn't working right now, just wait. But you gotta agree, at this point we have no clear indicator the servers will be strained on Monday. For all we know, it could get even worse, the entire network could go down in flames as soon as the actual Beta starts  Okay maybe that's pushing it a bit, but you know what i mean. I fully understand people who just wanna get done registering at this point due to the uncertainty of the servers. I haven't tried registering myself, that's because i got scared away from all those posts here and other forums :ninja: I'm waiting until Monday as you said. Well if something is getting hammered, logic tells you to come back later :p Although as we know, some people are like this... And all they really do is make things worse :( ;) The actual game play servers won't be strained on monday, heck the amount of people playing on monday will be nowhere near any other big multiplayer game - It is a beta test. And I suspect MOST people will be online playing, so I don't think the registration servers will be seeing anywhere near as much traffic. If people are as impatient as they're right now, you can bet some people have taken their Saturday night off, and instead of going out are planning on spending "5 hours" registering, just to get it done BEFORE Monday :p
Scazza
Well I have tried and the furthest I have gotten in Creating a Konami ID is filling in my details, then it bringing up the usual "page deleted due to inactivity" error. Oh the joys, I will keep trying but as long as I am all signed up by Monday I don't care how many attempts it takes me :)

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted April 19, 2008 Author Subscriber² Share Posted April 19, 2008 Another issue with this is that the Konami ID site can be visted by anyone! ANYONE can make an account. So it's not just the beta testers, hell people without a PS3 that plan to play MGS4 when they buy one are probably trying to register :/ So we might have all the 360 only owners trying to register as well
KoL Veteran Posted April 19, 2008 Veteran Share Posted April 19, 2008 KoL, how did you get rid of the "Due to a period of inactivity, the page has been deleted. Please click on the below link to return to the top page." error? I'm still getting that one :\ Last night was working. I didn't get the inactivity errors but I did get the emails, konami id, game id errors

Keito
Last night was working. I didn't get the inactivity errors but I did get the emails, konami id, game id errors :no:I finally did it as well... with a slight workaround;A lot of users on the original playstation forums have succeeded using this method. Open one or two extra tabs of the Konami ID website. Continue to the registration form as quickly as possible to avoid the time-out error, however, just relax at the registration form and fill it out slowly. Shortly before you're going to click the "next" button at the bottom of the form, switch to your other tab and get to the registration form as well - as soon as that loads, switch to the original tab, and hit the next button. Quickly hit the "complete" button on the last page and you should be set. Also, if you receive the confirmation mail, but the confirmation link times out as well, copy and paste it into your address bar (gmail gave me troubles with this)

Neo003
Konami really didn't thought this thru did they, I mean the number of beta keys they distributed they should've though that those people probably will sign up as soon as possible.
SonComet
Dunno why people are spazzing out? We can't play till monday anyway :pI'm 51% through the update just now. From where? Screenshots can be resized :p I remember some GoW PSP screenshots running in a resolution a lot larger than the PSP could do - Spurred on GoW PS2 rumours. No the screen shots are 1280x720. The rendering res in them is 1024x576. Means nothing until we get to see the final game though. Could just be an odd batch.

I know it's a bugger to get a Konami ID but keep at it, try the techniques that people have posted, it helped me get mine!!
