Usually afaik the stores are usually region based rather then per-country and language settings are based on your country and language settings when sign up so i would think ideally europe would access same store as UK people just with whatever the chosen native language is in your case, turkish etc.

Changed Thread Title to be a bit more specific.

Good Luck BTW (Y)

I think that is horribly wrong not everyone would have it at the same time personally.

Does this mean you can't access a store at all, or does it just mean there isn't a localised store? In other words you can access an english UK store and buy stuff (with a Visa), but not a turkish store?

If not, meh, that's pretty harsh.

I don't think Live works in some countries either, am I right? No idea why Sony can't have a store everywhere.

well when i sign up from Turkey... I can not access the store AT ALL... I know turkey is not a EU nation but still on the verge of it so if we ever can access store i am sure it will be in English and i really dont mind as long as we can use Turkish credit cards to make purchases from the Playstatin Store. There are at least thousands of people here that can not access the playstation store. So we have to create UK or US accounts but this time we still can not shop because our credit cards are Turkish and addresses do not match. The only way is finding friends who live in UK or US and get their card which i hate to do...

Thats why i had always wanted a Glogal store for PS3 instead of region..

I know besides Turkey, Greece also does not have the PS3 store and few other countries in europe. Including Slovenia, Iceland, Bulgaria, Israel etc...

I know the demand for PS3 is not high in these countries as much as major european countries but still it is so unfair not to be able to buy anything out of the PSN store...

And DirtyLarry i agree about it that it is very wrong that everyone can not have it at the same time. Its been over a year and they still could not fix this problem. And to be honest i am not sure if they will ever.

And here is another funny party. This is what happened to me last night.

With my UK account i entered my credit card number, but left it with a UK address. I tried it with several of my cards and no success. The network always said that the information is not valid...

Than my bank called me today and they told me that 7 times (the amount that i tried with 1 specific credit card) Sony CHARGED me 1$ each which is 7$...

Now i do not mind the 7 Dollars but if they can charge my credit card and get 1$ after every failing attempt... Than how can they not accept my credit card..

Searched Turkish forums and many users' banks also called them to tell them that 1$ from sony was taken from their accounts everytime they used their credit card in the store which did not register.

I have no idea why you would get charged unless you're buying things/putting money in your account.

You might get charged for that because of currency conversion - If you're using a UK store, which is in pounds, and paying with a Turkish CC.

Really I'd just avoid messing about with other stores unless you can get your hands on a Store card - You are lying about your address and other things with a credit card...

yepp true about that... in very few occasions some people managed to work their turkish credit cards with us or uk adresses but that is like 1%

and about being chared i have no idea as well... Since i am not buying and there would be currency conversion...

matter of fact i will email sony about getting charged.

ohh and you know more insultingly... When i sign up from a turkish account and go play fifa 2008... In the main lobby where you connect and play other people online, yoru country's flag is shown as a smaller icon instead of the regular flag of other countries... I saw this with Turkey and Greece and soem other countries.

Not the we can not only access the PS store... but also our flags are shown 1/4 size of the other flags in the lobby.

geez.. thank you EA sports...

The $1 thing is a pretty common practice that larger companies do since they can afford it I assume.

My guess is they just want to charge the account a dollar right away to make sure the account exists, and to hold the pending payment.

Once the full charge goes through, because keep in mind credit cards can be declined if a person does not have enough funds on them, but once they go through they just add the dollar into the remaining charge left, so if it was $20, they add $19 + the $1 they did initially for the $20.

So you should be getting those dollars refunded, not sure why the credit card company did not tell you otherwise.

Dude!

I stay in India and we don't have a PS Store. So i spoke to my other friends and they suggested me to make a new Singapore ID and Hong Kong ID.

I bought a couple of games like Loco Roco and Flow from Hong Kong PS store using my Indian credit card. A lot of my friends use their credit card on Singapore Store. We just gave our fake addresses with real name and while entering the credit card details, we gave all the info and the credit card was accepted.

Please note that no fake credit card was used. My friends who have owned a PS3 longer than me said that basically those Hong Kong or Singapore $$ get converted to INR and is listed in the statement.
