Rappy Veteran Posted December 29, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 29, 2008 I post it a different way but if it works then all good!

Zoom7000
I was wondering if this needed to be updated to support the new Youtube video scale format (16:9). Anything posted using the [ youtube ] tag automatically seems to get scaled to 4:3. Just a suggestion. :)
Rob Veteran Posted December 29, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 29, 2008 Embed code still uses a 4:3 player (their code, not ours) but it will just letterbox widescreen content.

Could we get the widescreen player?, the new size is 855*505 (compared to whatever it was before)
Rob Veteran Posted December 31, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 31, 2008 Could we get the widescreen player?, the new size is 855*505 (compared to whatever it was before) YouTube are still providing the 4:3 embedding code because, reportedly, there are issues with embedded widescreen players. So will wait this one out for now.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted December 31, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 31, 2008 I haven't had any problems with making the player widescreen, but I didn't need to use half the code he does. http://alex.thefrapp.com/files/youtube_hd.htm That makes the player play back the video at it's native (720p) res, without issue. Rob Veteran Posted December 31, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 31, 2008 When it was first released it didn't let you just change the height/width (Flash letterboxed it) but if they've released an update there I'll look into it. However I won't be automatically adding the whole &fmt=22 prefix in order to force full res, as for many users with slower connections it's just not practical
