Alfista
Ok guys... I live in turkey. We do not have ps store here in turkey so i signed up from UK and US seperately to enter PS store... The UK account do not accept my credit card so i can not do any purchases... the US account accepts my credit card so i can do purchasses via PS store.. Guess what i purchased today from US store? Variety map pack for COD4.. and guess what? when i enter the game and select multiplayer, the game tells me to download the variety map pack in order to play the variety team deathmatch... So in other words DID ANYONE KNOW that when you purchase a DLC add on for a game from US store, you can not play it if you are in europe? this is exactly whats happening to me right now. or something is wrong in the installation. Please help... I am so angry. Not that i will loose 10 dollars but i was waiting for the Add on like a child and cant play.
Alfista
Oh boy.. It is 1.30 Am here and i am reading from all over the internet that many people are extremely angry at infinityward.. First of all for now they have lost me as a COD4 player... The thing is... They region locked the DLC content... People in europe are also experiencing this problem. I read in the forums that people from germany with the german COD4 bought games from UK store and the maps did not work.. And infinity ward is simply asking them to pay the money again and buy the correct version.. If this was because of my stupidity and few others i would understand but so far there are hundreds of people in different forums complainig about this situation... Some people have the UK copy of COD4 for example and bought the game from a SWİSS ps store and they can not install it... You can make any region combination and nothing works unless you have the exact same region of map packs and game copy Please noone.. DO NOT DEFEND infinityward in this...This is a screw up like none before... Why are mappakcs are region locked (even country locked in europe) but none of the original games are... morficus
yeah... that is kind of a jerk move for them to pull. the PS3 is all about region-free stuff.... they shouldn't even have thought of locking the DLC...
popisdead uk
Most DLC is region locked. I feel sorry for you though mate, give IW/Sony a call and explain your situation. I'm sure they will understand.
Bhav
The Store has been updated so that each product states which BLES code it works with.Furthermore, the forums have been updated to explain how the download works. The call centres have also been updated about how to handle this. The Store team are refunding those who have the wrong match. I hope this clarifies the steps that SCEE are taking to ensure the consumer has a successful and enjoyable experience with the map packs.
