Calling all ATI Ubuntu users....

What planet have you been living on for the last year or so? It certainly isn't Earth. You're in a minority.
I am living on Mars. I work for UAC.

yet another reason why linux sucks. Yet, I love the irony of linux people making fun of Windows for drivers.

For the record, I tried Ubuntu 8.04 when it was in beta, and it worked fine with my integrated ATI x200M.

Linux does not suck. It has its problems like every operating system. I wasnt asking for your opinion on "Linux".

Please just ignore tsupersonics flame-bait. It is against the rules to go into threads and post "Windows sucks" as much as "Linux sucks". Consider his post to be without value.

I don't have any help but I've installed the drivers for my AGP X1650Pro 512MB in ubuntu 8.04 without any problems :s (unless you count a lack of support for compiz fusion). I didn't do anything special, they just worked *shrugs*.

The accelerated drivers or the Open Source drivers? The problem is with the accelerated drivers. Maybe that is why you can't use Compiz-Fusion? The Open Source drivers install ok, but Compiz-Fusion NEEDS the accelerated ones.
