Haze Demo Coming to PSN Next Week as Part of Playstation Day

Recommended Posts

Christ Haze took AGES to install last night. Gave it a quick go but it was pretty late by then. Seemed ok, nothing special really but I did only play it for a few minutes.

The demo is coming to the US store tomorrow. If you're too desperate to wait until then you can create a EU PSN account and download it in any region.

I played through the demo solo and co-op and while nothing about it really stands out it also doesn't have any glaring flaws either, and in a world where 4 player split screen games are rare thats probably enough to warrant a purchase if you're the full couch gaming type.

My initial impression is it is very standard fare, albeit it very pretty looking and just like every other standard FPS it does have the whole "hook" of the Nectar.

I also felt the shooting left a little to be desired, it felt a bit "floaty," simply for the fact although I was getting headshots, or at least definitely felt I was, and it appeared to not be doing much at all to the enemy. Also, the enemy AI was very canned compared to a lot of recent FPS's. It definitely did feel a bit dated.

Visually it is incredibly, incredibly nice, but with that said, knowing the likes of Crysis exists in which foliage moves while going through the jungle does also mean it feels a bit dated in that department as well.

This is all based on just one play through of the demo, and I only did it by myself not cooperatively.

Adding 4 player CoOp is fantastic as well, so it is definitely sweet they did that.

I will definitely rent the game just because I am a FPS fanatic and I did not feel it was a bad game, but nothing stood out to me as great, that is for sure.

Actually one thing definitely did stand out, the Audio was really, really good.

pretty good demo. i too found it was quite easy to take out enemies from very far. not the greatest game ever but its not at all bad. i found it more fun the resistance.

did you guys play the GRID demo? the sounds are absolutely out of this world. hitting the wall feels like you actually hit something

It's quite promising. Heck, the game plays a lot like Crysis too to be honest. I'll give it a rent, and possibly buy it if the reviews are decent.

I downloaded it, haven't played it yet. Based on what DL had to say about it, i'll probably end up gameflying it.

i pretty much agree with what DL had to say about haze. in addition to that, i tried 4 player co-op and it was definitely better than going at it alone. i also loved how we can customize the controls any way we like. i went with a cod4-like scheme, so the controls felt good.

one thing they should have added to the demo was the ability to play as a rebel. they already revealed that you wouldn't be a mantel soldier the whole game, so they should have given us a taste of what the other side is like.

It was better than I thought it would be. Looked better than I thought it would too for running 1024x576 with no AA. I need to play it again because it looked really clean on my first quick run through for having no AA. Maybe it's just how it all came together very well that hid the flaws for me. Anyways, I'm officially interested in this game for the first time ever. It will depend on how busy I am when it releases for whether or not I will pick it up, but at this point I am considering it.
