Jimmy0
Ok, so basically I was going to buy the GTAIV & PS3 bundle from Play.com for ?300, but at the moment they don't have any in stock, and I have no idea when they will. So what I was thinking of doing is getting the GT5:P bundle for ?275 from Play, and then getting GTAIV seperately, and then I would have the PS3 and two games for around ?310, rather than just one for ?300. Sound like a good idea? Or do you know of any other UK retailers selling the bundles at cheapish prices, Also my Dad is going to America in a few days, so I was thinking of getting him to pick me up a DS3 controller whilst he is out there, if I do this I won't have any problems using it on my UK PS3 will I? (I don't think I will, but better to be safe than sorry). Thanks for your help guys! Edited May 3, 2008 by Jimmy0

Plarkster
?275? The PS3 and GT5:P bundle is ?289.99 on Play. I got my PS3 with GTA 4 on Tuesday from Play and I looked around and couldn't find anything as good as the Play.com prices. Unless you go for one of the bigger bundles that places like Currys and ToysRus do but then you pay more overall and don't get the best games. GT5:P is only ?17.99 so I'd say one of the other bundles would be better value - either PS3 plus Drake's Fortune + Ninja Gaiden for ?299.99 or PS3 plus Drake's Fortune + Devil May Cry 4 for ?309.99. I've bought 2 DS3 controllers from eBay - one is from Japan and one if from Canada (I think) and they both work fine so you wont have any problems. Jimmy0
Plarkster you make a brilliant point about those other bundles, I completely overlooked them, but now I think I will go for one of them instead of the GT5:P one. (Also I have a code that gets me ?15 off, hence why I said ?275) Also I have 2 other queries for you: 1. I am going to be hooking the PS3 up to a Samsung 226BW monitor, do the neccesary cables come already with it, or will I need to purchase separate ones? 2. I have no speakers with my computer, I either listen to sound straight through a pair of earphones or I connect my PC to my stereo through the VIDEO AUX holes in the back (of the stereo). Will I be able to do the same thing with the PS3 (connect it to the stereo), or will I need to get my hands on some speakers or something?
Plarkster
I'm not 100% sure about the cable that comes with the PS3 as I had already bought an HDMI cable ready to hook it up to my HDTV. I think it was a normal scart cable like the one that comes with the Xbox and Wii - i.e. red, white and yellow connectors with a scart block that you can use if needed. You should be able to plug the red and white connectors into your stereo and then you'll need some kind of adaptor to connect the yellow connector to your monitor. Either that or I'm sure loads of other people are doing the same so you should be able to get a cable on eBay or Play. PS You'll get a MUCH better picture if you get an HDMI to DVI cable (I'm assuming your montor has a DVI input?) but then I don't know how you'll get sound. Maybe use the Optical Audio Out on the PS3 to connect it to your stero if possible? Edited May 3, 2008 by Plarkster
Rookas
I use HDMI for video into an LCD monitor and the regular red and white audio cable that came with the PS3 for sound. There's an option to use different cables for video and sound in the audio settings menu.
sn00pie
don't go for GT5P if you have the option lol, the fun gets finished after 3-4 weeks and i'm already trying to sell mine. ds3 and GTA4 are must haves!

Granted I could have checked but that would take up valuable GTA IV time....much like this post.../run to ps3.
Jimmy0
Thanks for the input guys, I have decided to go for the PS3, Uncharted and DMC4 bundle. Also for a HDMI>DVI cable to run to my monitor, will something like this do the job? Thanks again for all your input fellas!
