doomgeneration
I'm having trouble connecting to google.com in ubuntu 8.04 i'm dual booting with xp and connects fine in windows. but in ubuntu, and even my live cd, i cannot connect to google... it doesn't even give me an error message... it just says waiting for google.com in the status bar, and if i'm lucky i just get the top bar that lists the services, which i can connect to without problems. so i can get to maps, gmail, and calendar, but i cant do a simple web search! i've tried firefox and epiphany. any ideas? edit: eh could a mod fix the misspelling in the title? markwolfe Veteran Posted May 7, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 7, 2008 How about a bit of info, please... Are you connecting through an RJ45 (rectangular) ethernet port? Laptop/desktop? Wireless? Heck, even dial-up internet? You never really stated... Also, if you could also post the output of sudo ifconfig, it might be helpful.
