A Wireless-N router's future...

Question

DreadBoat89    0

So I was thinking about getting a wireless-n router. What worries me with buying now is the fact that 802.11n is still in development. If I buy a router now, what are the chances that it will have no problems when the standard is standardize? Do I need to worry about buying a new router when that happens?

if i do end up buying a wireless n router, it would be a linksys (wrt150n or wrt160n)

Linksys would probably come up with a firmware upgrade for that.

Yeah, you could probably just upgrade the firmware :)

I think just about every Wireless N router on sale now will be able to upgrade to the final spec. Not like the final spec is really going to be that much different. You should be safe with a Linksys considering all the third-party firmware support.
