You told Audioboxer to shut up but nobody else, so... I specifically remember you bashing on the PS3 pretty heavily :p

But that's all I'll say

Check out Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank. I really don't have too many games for it yet, so those are my only recommendations.

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune without a doubt. PSN: Super Stardust. Loads more of course, but one suggestion is fair :)

as for movies, great show off one is BBC Planet Earth.

I am yet to join but that could well be soon with MGS4 around the corner.

Wha tmade you switch? ;)

He doesn't need to be switching, just adding to his options. I own all three consoles and it's awesome to be able to buy any game being released right now.

Ill admit it, i was very very very very very very wrong!

After spending the night browsing the PS Network Store thing ... i have to say im amazed.

Ive been watching some of the videos from the PlayStation.Day and i'm impressed again with what is coming.

Can i just say, Mirrors Edge .. if you havent checked the trailer on the store in Hi-Def - You have GOT to watch it, i actually sat here watching it on my 50'' Plasma and said "Wow"

Sony are making steps in the right direction, if they continue like this, it will be a formiddable foe, and at ?285.00 i cannot complain .. i bought it as a blu-ray player first due to me having an xbox 360 - now im starting to see the games coming and im like hmmmmmm this is not so bad afterall its actually very ******** good!

So guys and gals ... i have no friends lol add me:)) = PSN_AJR1

Seriously, im actually amazed, quite probably in a state of shock and euphoric delight at what i've witnessed and experienced in the last five hours.

My night has vanished, my fiancee didnt even get to watch TV it was Paused on Sky+ and i've just been in the PlayStation Store for the whole god damn night, downloading, watching ... etc

And theres still a boat load of cotent there to go through, so im impressed, and to impress me it has to be very very good.

If anybody has a spare ?280.00 about its a very good decision.

I do have some criticisms, i have no friends who have one, i suppose i can make new friends but you know.

And im not sold on the integration of games .. GTA IV with no built in voice support, and no headset shipping with the console is a bit of an annoyance. So im going to have to research the headset thing and find out how the voice thing works.

Anyone got an Eye Toy?

you can use pretty much any usb headset for the ps3, or if you have a bluetooth headset lying around, that should work as well. i have a PS eye and it works fine...it even has a built in mic, which you can use for voice chat in games. only thing is, it usually picks up the noise from your tv as well, so i would just recommend getting a headset. as for the picture quality, it's decent, but i think it could be better. i actually prefer the picture quality of the xbox vision cam for the 360 (btw, if you do have a vision cam, it works with the ps3 :p).

glad to see you're satisfied with your ps3 purchase. :)

I've been saying for the last 3 months that PS3 is a superior machine than XBOX360. The difference is like a ferrari modena and a honda integra.

Anyway.. I have over 20 ps3 titles on bluray and about 10 network games... As a serios gamer

Buy COD4 as a must

rainbow six vegas 2 is good in single player but COD4's online is way better than rainbow

get fifa 2008 if u like soccer

GTA4 is a must although graphics are not in todays standards.

Assasins's creed is also nice but no value of the game since its only singla player and after beating it u dont feel like playing

Uncharted is hell of fun.

Devil May Cry 4 is OK ... no need to buy it.

Unreal Tournament is also good but not many people playing it to be honest.

STAY AWAY FROM GRAN TURISMO PROLOGUE AS IT IS A RIP OFF. (maybe after the damage patch you might consider)

etc etc etc...

Firstly, im not going to let this degenerate into a fanboy war.

I will say that both consoles have their own strengths, and in no way can they be contrasted, they are completely different.

I will say this, that i absolutely berated this machine, i had it at launch and it was absolutely down right stinkingly terrible.

But now, its a completely different ball game.

Sony im very pleased to say, have a focus and direction, probably since harrison left, David Reeves is assured and determined that this console is going places, and i would be you my ?145,000 Mortgage, My ?1600 Plasma plus Entertainment Suite, along with My 360 Elite and PS3 - that 2008/9 will be (if the games i've witnessed come out on time etc) a year where PlayStation 3 really really pushes both the Nintendo Wii and MS Xbox 360.

I still cant believe Mirrors Edge .. its freakin unreal!

Congrats on the re-purchase.

Phil Harrison only left in March though, it takes a lot longer to turn the devision around than that :p They are making a lot of good moves and of course, MGS4 is just about to come out (Y)

As for Mirror's Edge, you do realise it's multiplatform don't you? (360, Windows and PS3), but yeah it does look damn cool

Of course, its just the first time i have seen footage of it, and yeah your right it looks damn good!

I'd really have to say that the PlayStation 3 is missing two key elements to making it an absolute killer console.

Improving the social capabilities, i dont agree with having the friends list in a sub menu of wherever it is, it should be your primary focus, join friends through XMB - i dont know if this got implemented or not maybe someone can clear that up for me.

And as for the headset thing, i've read people saying bluetooth ones work fine, but have you tried to sit there with a BT headset but your not guaranteed your opponent has voice out of the box which is a shame as it splits the community up and removes the social aspect that Mr.Reeves was so quick to point out they pioneered and delivered.

But hey, that aside, People have to try this thing out ... Its 1 year into its lifespan, and its looking good, slow to take shape but an artist can never be rushed as they say.

Wha tmade you switch? ;)
He doesn't need to be switching, just adding to his options. I own all three consoles and it's awesome to be able to buy any game being released right now.

I'll be honest with you, i really do not have a preference for either console, as i said above, i now firmly believe the PlayStation 3 has enough going for it that it can rival in a very realistic way the Nintendo Wii and the Xbox 360.

Its price is perfect, its capabilities are impressive and wide ranging, and its movie catalogue is unrivalled and unchallenged.

While i do not agree that Blu-Ray will be a "Standard" but more of the only immediate choice for HD content, and i do not anticipate Sony having the HD market to itself, without a challenge from somewhere, for very long.

I'll also tell you what led me to purchasing the PlayStation 3 as this is a real insight into what other people will probably be thinking when they weigh up their options.

I was in Tesco's and its the biggest one they have, and my girlfriend mentioned getting a wii, so i did the maths, Wii = ?179.99 with a game say for example Wii Sports thats ?210.00 with Wii Fit which she wanted thats ?280.00 the PlayStation 3 GT5 Pack was only ?285.00 and its a Blu-Ray Player where as the Wii isnt. The PS3 has online multiplayer and a store, where as the Wii is limited for online play and its store is average in my opinion.

So i just took a deep breath, removed my debit card, and said give me the console and do not let me stop the transaction no matter how much i shout and scream ... the girl behind the desk kindly agreed to my terms and i walked out after doing some shopping and getting some strange looks with my PlayStation 3.

Came home, hooked it up, did the update to version 2.5 everything went without a hitch, tried to play Guitar Hero with the Gibson Guitar - went horribly wrong so thats giong back tomorrow and im getting SingStar or something else instead ... i dont know what yet.

So i said ok i have no games, lets go browse the Store.

Holy Mother of all that is to be wondered! - have they improved the store or what, theres a decent catalogue of games there now, i mean my favourite, Theme Hospital from the old Bullfrog Games is even there, theres all the content from the PlayStation.Day so you can see what the future holds for the console, there is demo's lol just everything you could want from the store is there.

So yeah its more about adding to my options as Giga said - I love the 360 i really do, but i have to say, i've also found room to love the PS3 just as much.

If i can put my hand on my heart and say it was worth every penny, any gamer out there who engages in the dark art of "Fanboyism" really deserves to be HappySlapped and appear on YouTube.

Good post mate. Glad you are liking it. Shame the majority of people that slag off the hardware have never owned one, or only played one for a few hours.

The PS3 is a fine console, superbly built with great media connectivity, for me its the better console on the market but that is a personal preference. (I do still enjoy gaming on the 360)

Ok on the serious note.

Depend what kind of game you're into but on PS3 get NG Sigma (if you've already played all the NG game then rent), Ratchet Clank Future: ToD, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted.

Also if you're PS3 is Backward Compatible get MGS Anniversary edition.

Yep. I personally like my 360 more, but I still love my PS3 and I'm extremely happy to own it. I think the biggest thing that has me liking the 360 more is simply the controller. Everything else is on par for each console.
