AStalUK
I am currently in the process of setting up a new PC running PCLinuxOS 2007 on which I need to run Windows Vista/Server 2003/2008 in virtualized form for development purposes. One of the virtualization software I was looking at was Virtualbox which I've seen mentioned in several forums, having only previously used MS Virtual PC 2007, what is Virtualbox like, or are their better free alternatives? Currently I don't need support for USB or dual monitors, although both would be nice so I'm not currently looking at VMWare (perhaps down the line). I'm running this on a fairly powerful machine, Quad Core2@2.4Ghz with 4GB RAM. Thanks in advance, AStaley.
kyro
well, Virtualbox is very nice actually and reading http://ihatecubicle.blogspot.com/2008/02/s...irtual-box.html doesnt seem its hard to setup. I would tell you to give it a try as its free :D
Borbus
Virtualbox is much better than MS Virtual PC. It is free and it is the best imo.
Elv13
About user friendlyness, vmware server (free but not free software) is the best. Then come VirtualBox (free and free software). After that fedora/red hat virt manager, xephir+xen, xephir+kvm, qemu, botch and few other.
