So those rumors about Microsoft Windows 7 making an early debut at D6?

They’re true. During tonight’s interview with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Chairman Bill Gates, Microsoft (MSFT) will demonstrate Windows 7’s all-new user interface.

Check back here this evening for exclusive all-access coverage of the announcement.

 + :bounce: =

This new interface news is great!

I bet it wont be as revolutionary as everyone thinks it will be.

As long as it's more customizable and more polished than the look of Vista.

I don't understand the need to drastically change the UI, to be honest. Like doing away with drop down menus in Vista... I really didn't see the point. Yes, you can press ALT to access them, but why hide a key UI component that everyone's been using for years? Plus there are issues with old applications remaining inconsistent with interface changes...

...BUT, having said that, I must admit that I am curious as to what changes have been made.

So anyone knows what time is this thing going to start....?

Yeah, and even if they show a new UI, it's not going to stay, it's just a prototype and probably going to change so much untill RC1 that you're going to look for skins to make your Windows 7 system look like it.

+1

And this is not a dig at MS in general, just that I think it's a bit too early to reveal the final look...

To some level

We shouldn't be having any expectations at this moment in time.
