+Gary7 Subscriber² Posted June 3, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted June 3, 2008 Sometimes it takes one of my posts almost a minute to go through. Other times it tales forever for a page to even load. I am getting these errors on a more frequent interval now. I post about the slowness of this forum in thge Bug section a few days ago. The error that I get is This: IPS Driver Error There appears to be an error with the database. You can try to refresh the page by clicking here Maybe Neowin needs a fifth server??? DaveLegg Developer Posted June 3, 2008 Developer Share Posted June 3, 2008 I just tweaked something on our primary mysql server that I thought would cause a minor issue with the mysql process, as the issue didn't occur as expected, I restarted mysql to ensure it is ok, and isn't going to fail due to that error while I'm not around. Testing completed, we're back to normal service :)

+Gary7 Subscriber² Posted June 3, 2008 Author Subscriber² Share Posted June 3, 2008 I believe that there still is a problem here. && and 1/2 seconds to load a page on a high speed connection is sloooow.

Wannes
I'm having major issues trying to even browse the site right now. Indeed, me to. However, I do notice it only happening once in a while and not all the time.
Piggy
Me too, and the funny thing is the first time I tried replying to this thread it took forever to respond so I gave up. hehe :D
Piggy
It seems it is getting worse for me. Sometimes it tries to connect and won't at all and thus stay on the same page. Other times it takes a really long time (30+ secs) but finally goes through.

Other times it takes a really long time (30+ secs) but finally goes through. I've been watching the database, and found some queries that take 30+ seconds, I've tweaked the code a little to hopefully improve that, so we'll see if that improves the speed :)
Piggy
Thanks. It's driving me crazy. I've tried IE instead of FF, Flushed my DNS and reset my router and still the same issue. Quite often it goes to contacting neowin.net, then nothing happens. I click again and it's like a 50/50 chance of getting a response (which then is usually VERY fast). Piggy
Ok it seems to be working fine for the first time in quite a while. I'll post again if it goes back to what it was.
ViperAFK
It was happening to me earlier too, but is fine now.
Piggy
It happened again, but now it seems to be fine. It's not the forum by itself either. I sometimes just can't plain connect to neowin.net.

It can take up to a minute for a page to load. I am using a high speed connection as well and this is the only site that is a problem.
