Run RC2 is safe mode and choose the proper choice you want. I would choose to start a new profile . Start fresh.

mentalindustries
thanks for the heads up. Was laying in bed last night and was wondering when RC2 would be released (check neowin when i woke up and here is the news) If only it was the lotto numbers... Since they are touting Friday as Download Day, I would suspect that that will be the release date of RC2. They are trying to seta record of the most downloads of a single product in a 24 hour period. theyarecomingforyou
I've been using Firefox 3 since RC1. It took me a while to move over because I was hoping the Thinger extension was going to be updated but now I just use the bookmarks toolbar, which has improved considerably since Firefox 2. I haven't noticed any change with RC2, not that I was expecting to - everything is working as expected. I look forward to the final release and the download record attempt. As for the user interface... I would have to say that I don't see the reason for the change. Why is everything now blue instead of multiple colours? It seems more like a prototype, though I like the design of the new forward/back button. I don't object to the new UI but I don't really like it either. I'm sure I won't care after a few weeks / months - either that or I'll simply search out a decent skin.
azz0r_wugg
Hm I'm confused. I did the about:config settings so that all my previous extensions should atleast be enabled and only half are - so I guess some it knows are incompatible due to behaviour? No Adblock, no tabplus, no firebug, no minimizetotray? :(

No Adblock, no tabplus, no firebug, no minimizetotray? :( Adblock and MinToTray work for me on RC1 with extensions.checkCompatibility set to false (adblock is actually compatible, but MinToTray needs the hack). I don't know about firebug, but I know that there are newer builds of TMP available that are compatible with Fx3

I don't even have test in my menu. If you want to BM anything click on the Star.

Boktai1000
Yea the Bookmarks menu seems to be working fine, but something i noticed is that you have to click the bookmark star twice for it to pop up, anyone else notice that or is it suppose to be like that? +Gary7 Subscriber² Posted June 4, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted June 4, 2008 Wrong. Clicking "Bookmarks" is supposed to reveal your Bookmarks menu: OK, this behavior does not happen with me. When I click on the Bookmarks Text( I put it back) it does in fact open up the bookmarks menu. But if you click on the star it is a one click bookmark feature. I would prefer one click over two. But there is a problem with you install . I uses a bookmark Icon and when I click on it the side panel of bookmarks does open. I have never used the text. If you are using RC2 then report it as a bug. If not install it and see if it goes away. You can also start up in safe mode and clear out everything. Maybe your profile is corrupt? theyarecomingforyou
something i noticed is that you have to click the bookmark star twice for it to pop up, anyone else notice that or is it suppose to be like that? Clicking it once adds it to the "Unsorted Bookmarks" section, whilst a further click allows you to rename and file it. This is deliberate, though not intuitive. Only on a site that you already have bookmarked. If the site is not Bookmarked the star will be clear, if the site is bookmarked it will be yellow. kjordan2001
Since it has not been officially release by Mozilla I doubt it. It's apparently been put in Check For Updates though, because I just went to it and it asked me if I wanted to upgrade (from RC1) to RC2.
rkenshin
I was just able to use the update feature in Firefox and it automatically downloaded RC2. I kind of wish for a quick bookmark button, much like IE, so I can kill off the menu, and not have a sidebar show up (Yes, I know FF has a bookmark button, but it opens the sidebar). I want the star button to give me the drop down bookmark menu as well. Must be a lot of "under the hood" changes.

Wish I didn't have to signup for yet another forum dammit........*walks off cursing*........ If this has happened to you since Beta and you did not report the bug then that is your problem. Try looking HERE. It has never happened to me going back to when I used Firefox when it was called Phoenix. JustGeorge
Beta as in FF3 Beta 5  Yes, I suppose I could share some of the blame for not reporting it but I get tired of having to sign up with every forum on the planet to report silly ass problems. Anyway, I have narrowed the problem down to something in my Bookmarks. If I nuke just those, the problem goes away.
The2
I hope they fixed bugs with browsing Microsoft pages and MSDN pages. I had firefox crashing all the time there. Beta 5 didn't crashed once, RC1 crashed on me at least 15 times, although Silverlight plugins was responsible for a half of it.
