Calum Veteran Posted June 4, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 4, 2008 Yes, but using IE Tab is very annoying as it doesn't let you see the favicon of the website & it also opens any links within that webpage in the IE engine (e.g. on Windows Live Hotmail, when I open a Neowin News Alert, it opens in IE Tab when I have only assigned the Hotmail URL to open in the IE engine :s) Also, does Neowin crash for anyone ever? It's starting to happen all the time for me & I don't know why? :\ I think it's specifically on threads with attatchments or images?

As for IE Tab I only have it set for two websites and the favicons on my bookmark tool bar do not change. I don't care what is in the URL windows. Those sites that I chose are the only two that open in IE. I open Windows Live mail in Firefox, without the IE Tab.
Calum Veteran Posted June 5, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 5, 2008 (edited) Ahh right, I see. The only reason I open Windows Live Hotmail in IE Tab is because you can resize the columns then. Also, you can use the drop-down to select an email to go to a certain folder. You can't do these properly in the Firefox rendering engine, in Windows Live Hotmail. EDIT: I've just noticed that using Windows Live Hotmail in Firefox 3, without IE Tab, puts you on the 'classic' mode of Windows Live Hotmail, with much less features! There seems to be no way to use the 'full' version without using IE Tab on it :/ ---------------- Now playing on iTunes: "Weird Al" Yankovic - Girls Just Want to Have Lunch via FoxyTunes Edited June 5, 2008 by cJr.

Iian K
tbh, there isn't much of a change.. Most likely bug fixes.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted June 5, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 5, 2008 It's apparently been put in Check For Updates though, because I just went to it and it asked me if I wanted to upgrade (from RC1) to RC2. Yeah, it's on auto-updates. tbh, there isn't much of a change.. Most likely bug fixes. Funny that

MulletRobZ
Sweet! Silverlight finally works on the Mac with this update! Now if only they can fix that title bar problem, they can finally consider this release to be final! ;)
Quillz
Running RC2 on my Mac... seems exactly the same as RC1. There are no front-end changes, as far as I can tell.
wellofsouls
so is there a list of changes/bug fixes between RC1 and RC2?
Piggy
It still has the same issues for me. Loading really large webpages (usenet web index for example) makes it slow to a crawl and possibly crash. Back to my trust 2.x FF
wellofsouls
I thought this is one of those "breaking bugs" that's supposed to be fixed before final release? oh well, guess we are going to have an RC3....
