If anyone has ever set up a Xserve in a windows environment, could you please tell me your experiences, advice, etc.

Also, are there any indepth books, websites that explain this task.

Do you have any experience with setting up a *nix/bsd environment?

If not, those would be good books to get if you don't happen to find any specifically for the xserve (in particular, get a BSD book, as OSX is based on BSD)

You might be able to VNC in as well, and run it headless.

How set up is it for you at this point?

I didn't purchase it yet. I want to implement it as a domain controller for a windows environment, and it will also function as a file server. Right now, no other servers will be connected to it in the immediate future, but I also want it to be scalable if I implement it. I have about 25 users in a mixed PC/Mac environment I want to benefit from it.

Well, you'll probably want to plug in a monitor/keyboard/mouse just to get it turned on a running. Then you can either ssh into it or use VNC. I think you'd like the VNC option better as the GUI-based tools for OSX are really nice. But, ssh'ing isn't all that impossible. I haven't looked, but I'm sure there are a few OSX Server books out there that should get you started.
