Gundamdriver
Hi. In Linux, the kernel is named vmlinuz (compressed) and placed in /boot, and will be used for booting up a Linux system. I just wonder what is the equivalent file in BSD UNIX system? Is it vmunix, and placed under /boot? Do people compress it like vmlinuz? Thanks for your answers. The_Decryptor Veteran Posted June 13, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 13, 2008 Looks like it's "/boot/kernel/kernel" (fore FreeBSD anyway) No idea if it's compressed or not.
