Paypal without credit card

Recommended Posts

I've been wanting to subscribe myself a while now but never got around to it. Why? I'm not too happy on giving out credit card information, not even on PayPal.

However, I've got some money on PayPal by which I can buy a subscription. Is there a way to transfer money through Paypal without having an credit card attached to it? Or will I be forced to add one?

( I know about other payment methods, I'm referring to this one )

I got instant payment with only my bank account number.

Hmm, I'll see what I can do with this. Thanks. :)

Your more willing to give out your bank acct number than a CC#? atleast with a credit card you can fight the transactions if your account gets compromised...with a bank # they can drain your funds and your screwed

I don't know how it's like down there but here you are nothing with a number unless you want to deposit an amount. :)

I know it's a little late, but it's a FYI that may be helpful in the future.

If you have funds in your PayPal account (i.e. somebody has transferred funds into it) you do not need a credit card or a bank account to send that money to anybody else. You only need a bank account or credit card if you want to send more than is actually in your account.

I've got a credit card ban on myself at the minute, so I'm only using my Solo card for online purchases.

Can I use that to subscribe to Neowin? I can use it through Paypal normally, but I couldn't see an option this time.

That isn't true. Jeremy Clarkson thought the same thing, so published his bank details in his news paper column, one week later he had donated over ?500 to some charity.

Same here (Finland), I could post my bank account number everywhere on the internet and no one wouldn't be able to do anything with it. I know it's the same in Germany too.

That's what I had to know. I'll just make sure I'll get some funds on my paypall without adding a card. ;)

I can only get instant payments with my bank account plus my credit card. The credit card acts as a backup payment source just in case I don't have enough funds it my account. Instead of cancelling the payment, it'll simply charge the credit card. If it was my bank account alone then I'd have to wait 6-8 days to transfer funds to my PayPal account then pay. And 8-10 days for a direct payment. It's quite stupid if you ask me but oh well.

True, but as stated above that only applies if you are looking to transfer more funds than you have existing in your Paypal account.
