b0zm4g
Windows hang off my screen if they are too long, im not sure if its to do with the screen resolution but i hear there are common problems with this. I found this website Visit My Websitehttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/EeePC/Fixes But there are two problems where they address the screen resolution, one is they only state what u have to do for the 7" version of the eee and not the 9" version, the other problem is that they say its not applicable to the hardy version of ubuntu which is what im currently running. So basically, is the issue of windows hanging off my screen due to the resolution. And if it is how do i fix this. Thanks
markwolfe Veteran Posted June 17, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 17, 2008 Well, let's ask a terminal what your current resolution is: xrandr | grep \* Not sure what the 9" version resolution is supposed to be set to (is it 800x480?), but that command should respond back with the current X resolution. markwolfe Veteran Posted June 17, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 17, 2008 Is that what it's supposed to be? If it is what it should be, maybe I am not understanding the problem.

markwolfe Veteran Posted June 17, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 17, 2008 Well, if your resolution is fine, then the problem is the position or size of the window in question. Drag it somewhere else, or resize it to shrink. You can use the ALT key to move or resize in cases where you cannot get to the title bar or resize edge/corner. ALT-left drag moves the window. ALT-right drag to resize. (these are two features that I really like in Linux, along with the scrollbar working on backgrounds windows)
dragon2611
nah the screen resolution is 1024x600, which is what its set at in screen resolution in the system menu. if it's an intel chipset it might need a softmod to fix the wide screen support in linux. (Have a macbook with a gma950) This loads at bootup and make the wide screen resolutions work properly. the package is called 915resolution should be in the package repository so can be installed with apt/synaptic/ark (whater you use to install packages)
