Portfolio Design

Question

Nerve    0

Here is something I've been working on recently, the result of boredom. :)

It is no-where near completed, just wondered what you guys thought of it so far.

At the moment I agree, although I do like the minimalist style. Ignore the content sections for now, I was mainly working on the navigation.

If you are creating a portfolio you need to come across as a professional.

Don't call yourself "Nerve",

Don't use txt talk "<3",

Don't have tutorials,

The line height is too small,

Boring design.

The point is to show potential customers your work, I'm afraid it's un-inspiring and quite drab, I would start again to be honest.

It's nothing serious, as I said - ignore the content (and this is all you have criticised) section, and potential customers? It would just be to show-off my work, not any services. Anyway, thanks for the opinions, I thought it was looking good for my second web template EVER! :)

i like it, but the gap between the grey and darker grey boxes is too wide.

Showing off your work is your service.

It's a bit like asking for an opinion on a white page with nothing on it. Some people will say "blue will look good", while others "a splash of green would look cool".

Finish it then ask.

Personally i would make the line height a bit bigger, and i would change your description of yourself to Justified [inside a rectangle] compared to your current centering of the text and i would also have left aligned the text in the guides section.

I am not feeling it. reminds me too much of what is out there already. but if you say it is just for you, and no clients, then it isn't a big deal.

I go not care for it much. Yet completed content and other additions may change the current appeal.

Haha, cheesy. 'Welcome to my humble Adobe'. :D

Keep the professionalism up if it's a portfolio. If you're showing off your work people need to know you're serious.

Argh, everyone is acting like this is a serious piece, I was probably drunk or half asleep when I wrote whats in the content boxes. (which aren't even finished.) :pinch:

Anyway, thanks for the opinions, when/if I do ever want to make a personal portfolio for real, ofcourse I wouldn't type like that. <3 and such - but I'll bare what you've all said in mind. :)

Well seen as I work with Adobe Photoshop, I thought it would be funny to put adobe instead of abode, get it? I know, it's bad. :)
