PGHammer
In fact, not only am I running openSuSE 11, but posting from it (on the larger of my two hard drives). Pluses: Most average hardware is supported out of the box, along with enough no-cost add-ins to keep you (most of the time) away from Windows, even if you dual-boot, as I do. Supports running in VMWare directly (no need to install VMWare Tools when running in a VMWare VM). Includes VirtualBox Open-Source Edition (now Sun xVM Open Source Edition), so you can create your own VMs (it includes the Xen hypervisor, too). Minuses: UNfortunately, like every other Linux distribution, it has trouble with some Windows codecs as far as multimedia goes (also, openSuSE in particular's GRUB doesn't play nice with Vista, which is why I went with separate hard drives). Support for most PC games is still an afterthought (though that's on the developers, not Novell or the openSuSE community)
