a question on shell tunnels

ok if i was to use my linux shell as a socks5 proxy tunnel for firefox can the admin of the server monitor the sites i goto

the forum files ( passwords and usernames ) or does the server encrypt this from happing

if i remember right the server is Centos

I am not sure what you are asking.

If you are SSH'd into a server, your network administrator can't see what you are doing on the server unless they are keylogging you, or watching what you do on your screen with some remote control software. SSH is pretty damn secure.

Now this is assuming that the server that you are SSH'd into is not on the same network that you think you may be watched on.
