"Reason: The semaphore timeout period has expired?"

i get this when im trying to copy a game image from one hard drive to another or burn them to dvd (DVD+R DL)

i dont understand what it means and if anyone can help me or shed any light on this matter i would greatly appreciate it

my specs are amd phenon 9600 black edition

4gb ddr2 ram

750gb sata2 hdd

500gb sata2 hdd

asrock nforce 570 mobo

sony 20x DL DVD burner (updated firmware because i thought that was the problem)

any help would be greatly appreciated once again

EDIT: i dont know if this is a hardware or vista problem so please move it if it is suppose to be in a different forum :)

I figured it out. It happens when the total path length of the source file

and the total path length of the destination file are greater than a given

value, 128 I believe. When this occures in windows, it results in a Path

Too Deep error.

Arrg! So instead of just copying it directly, I first copy it to my hard

drive c:\a.tmp, then copy it to the final destination with the correct file

name.

Hmm, could be a deadlock. Hard to really identify the cause without more information. Does this only happen with that particular file or kind of file? I take it rebooting has no effect?

I wonder if you have some sort of malware / copy-protection filter driver installed or something which could be responsible.
