Tha Bloo Monkee
I just finished installing Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit Desktop onto my computer, and I couldn't even log in after it installed. I tried using the different Sessions, and the only one that works is the Failsafe GNOME (which from what I gather, is like the Ubuntu equivalent of SafeMode. When I tried logging in normally, it made the login noise, then the screen would turn black and go back to login screen again. If I tried logging in again, it would do the exact same thing. Although I've used Ubuntu and know the basics, I'm still a n00b at anything advanced, lol. Any ideas?
Tha Bloo Monkee
Nevermind, I got it working :) I toyed around with some of the startup scripts, and enabled the proprietary ATI drivers, and it worked. I'm not sure which one did the trick, but I think it was the drivers, lol.
