Gangsta
How about looking on the mysql website? http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.0.html I dunno if what you're looking for is there or not.
rustix
that kinda confused me.. see i'm pretty new to linux..
Gangsta
I see. Not criticizing, and don't mean to troll, but if you're new to Linux, I'd probably recommend Ubuntu over other distros for newb-friendliness. Otherwise, you're looking for the Red Hat compatible .rpm files . In addition, I would update your OS if I were you (seeing as FC6 is two years old or so, and 9 is out). Once you update, check your package manager (I think it's called 'yum' in Fedora?) It may have a release of Mysql that would probably greatly simplify installation. rustix
i know what you mean.. but the problem is i'm doing an internship and here they use FC 6 so I really don't have much of a choice :( otherwise i prefer ubuntu as well
markwolfe Veteran Posted July 8, 2008 Veteran Share Posted July 8, 2008 Fedora 6 will still have yum. I would think that a yum install mysql (as root) would do the trick. For the "max" bit (which I haven't heard of before), look here for install instructions: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/mysqld-max.html
