! Telus - Use other modem ?

Question

DrunkenMaster    0

Telus screwed up and I don't have a modem with my new connection order. I want to know - from other Telus DSL users - if I can buy a 3rd party modem to connect. I might have to change some of the settings in the firmware that's fine.

As I understand the firmware is locked out *on the Telus modems*. I just want to go and buy a 3rd party modem or DSL router.

I'm without internet and need it desperatly for business. Any advise very welcome. :)

I would prefer advise only from Telus users. You can do this on Bell ..... But telus noy sure.

most likely because they will want to send a tech out 3 weeks from now and charge $99 /hr to install it

they'd probably charge 99$ for the modem.. but theres no reason for a Tech to install a DSL modem.
