Going Elite

Recommended Posts

So after considering etting a pro to replace my premium for a while since I've been wanting to use HDMI but kept deciding I didn't really need it, VGA works just fine, no need to throw away money.

Then after E3 I figured it was time to grab a disk, with Burnout (xbox1) on the disk and wanting to buy more gaes, and the ability to copy the disk images of games to the HDD in the next update, I needed a 120GB. Heck aybe in 5 years MS will launch the movie arketplace here in Norway too.. you never know :p

but of course the Elite is just twice the price of the 120GB HDD, and it's got HDMI as wel as the proper dongle for optical out and all. So I ordered one, along with the chatpad, and a spartan gamepad (well they didn't have the red and black one yet :p).

I still think I prefer the console in white, but I'll adapt :)

I'm thinking about buying another one too, I sold my premium to a friend in need recently :)

I'm just waiting for some games (and time to play) to get a new one. With yesterdays announcement I'm considering the Elite so I can put my games on to the hard drive. But I'll still wait a few months for the good stuff.

My stuff arrived today :)

heh I didn't even know the psartan controller came with a figure, nice :)

Anyway can I move my savegames from a HDD to a memory card ? if so I think I'll grab a memory card when I go to trondheim for the Iron Maiden concert on Tuesday ( ) so I can move y savegames over while I order the transfer kit.

Congrats on the purchase dude (Y)

And yes you can copy game saves to the memory card from the HDD. You can then transfer them to the new Elite HDD without the cable, but if you have a lot of DLC you are best ordering the cable from MS anyways.

And you're a lucky S.O.B going to see Iron Maiden :p

Also considering getting an Elite in the coming weeks, but I'm not sure if I should just wait for the 60GB model to come out instead. Does the Elite have built-in wireless, or do you still need the addon for that?

You still need the addon for that, but you don't need the overpriced $100 official addon. Many third-party adapters work just fine (Linksys Gaming Adapter for example) or the old Xbox adapter (MN-740), you can usually get those on eBay for cheap.

    • What about it? The old MV2 version will not work.
    • Wow, this is some Iran, Cuba, China, Russia, North Korea-level citizen surveillance right there, the UK's government has gone totally mad. Power trip indeed, their politicians are totally out of control about this issue. They're starting to cross limits I wouldn't have imagined, to be honest. British people, fight this, your privacy and freedoms are in danger. Vote this government out of power.
    • Nintendo unveils The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, and it's out this year by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Confirming many rumors, Nintendo officially announced a remake of the classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the very first game in the series that offered a 3D experience to fans. Unlike previous remasters and re-releases, the originally 1998-released fantasy adventure game is being remade from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch 2 console this time. "The Nintendo 64 classic returns for a new generation in 2026, reborn exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2," said the company about today's announcement. While Nintendo didn't go into much detail about the project, other than confirming its existence, we did get a small teaser trailer at the Direct presentation today. Catch the footage below: With a tapestry as the backdrop, the first half of the trailer tells the tale of Hyrule, the Kokiri forest dwellers, and their fairy companions. It goes onto introduce "one particular boy" without a fairy, which then cuts to a sleeping Link, showcasing what looks like the new art style being introduced in the remake. Unfortunately, no gameplay or a look at the world has been revealed yet. The game originally released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1998, offering a time travel adventure where Link is once again going up against the evil king Ganondorf. The hugely well-received title has only been playable on modern Nintendo consoles using the Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo Switch 2 doesn't have a firm release date yet, but Nintendo says it will be released sometime in 2026. Considering just how many publishers are avoiding the Grand Theft Auto VI release nowadays, the company may copy that strategy and also opt to bring this out before November this year.
