XP: Vista msgina.dll/shell32.dll

Recommended Posts

So I installed the Crystal XP's Bricopack Vista Inspirat 2 but I'm not too fond of my classic dialogs stating "Vista Inspirat ULTIMATE." No offense to the author of the wonderful pack, I just do not like it.

Below is an example of my shutdown dialog, my CTRL+ALT+DEL screen is similar. I've also attached another little tidbit that annoys me inside my file picker. If anyone knows how to change those icons as well, please let me know.

Oh and just to let you know I'm on XP SP3

I've extracted the resources and scripts from Vista Inspirat 2 for use on my unattended XP cd. Once applied to the system files in my unattended share via batch file, the resulting log files shows there's 7 problems.

I'd post this on their forum, but it's broken so new registrations aren't working. I'm hoping someone from there will see this.

Whoever built this pack did a great job so I can't complain. Given the large number of files involved, it's no wonder there's a few mistakes.

mstscax.dll is not found in I386 of my XP share while building my unattended. I assume RVM Integrator is cabbing it somewhere when I integrate his update pack. Not a big deal since that file is just some ActiveX trash for terminal server, which I've never used.

Here's the real issue, though certainly not a deal breaker. There's several resources missing from the latest version of this pack.

5_browseui.dll folder is missing CURSORGROUP_103.cur

20_inetcplc.dll folder is missing ICONGROUP_1307.ico

37_netid.dll folder is missing ICONGROUP_102.ico

67_wiashext.dll folder is missing ICONGROUP_102.ico

76_zipfldr.dll folder is missing AVI_161.avi

and the "80_msoeres.dll" folder is missing the resources listed below. Not a big deal on this one as I don't use Outlook Express.
