mail.app adding random numbers to filenames

Recommended Posts

a friend of mine has a strange but somewhat known problem...

whenever he sends attachments with his mail.app, it adds random numbers or digits in general to the file ending, resulting in not being able to be opened by the reciever.

that really sucks because he is working at an advertisingagency and so he has to send out attachments pretty often.

its not because of "umlaute", specific german letters which sometimes cannot be displayed and be replaced by things like "#u/" or whatever, its just random and not solvable, apparently.

he did some research on the internet and the problem does occure sometimes but there seems to be no solution yet and apple didnt release a patch since it only appears on some mail.app-apps. he has all the updates installed and because he didnt find an answer anywhere, i thought ask the kind neowin community, cara sure knows the answer. ;)

thanks, cheers, good night. =)
