gregb0b
Hey all, I need a program that is simple to use for resizing images. Its for my step mom and her digital camera takes high resolution images that are too big for emails. She has photoshop on her pc but it is too hard to explain to her over the phone in terms of using it. Does anyone have any suggestions on an image re-sizer? thanks
+Gary7 Subscriber² Posted July 28, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted July 28, 2008 I use Paint.net. It works great and it is free. http://www.getpaint.net/index.html
Brian M. Veteran Posted July 28, 2008 Veteran Share Posted July 28, 2008 If she has photoshop, just write it down for her, it's not that hard. 1) Open in Photoshop 2) Image -> Image size 3) Set resolution to 1024x768 (for email) 4) File -> Save for Web/Devices 5) Choose JPEG High (or JPEG Medium if she has a slow connection) 6) Click Save
tmaxxtigger
If she has XP then you can use the Image Resizer in Powertoys, it adds a shell extension: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloa...ppowertoys.mspx

All you have to do is tell your Mom to right click pictures and set "low" "medium" or "high"

Marcel T
The previously mentioned Image Resizer PowerToy for XP is about as easy as it gets but for a little more flexibility with the ease of drag and drop, check out Picture Resizer. It's as easy as renaming the app and drag/dropping JPEGs onto it.
