dmd3x
I recommend the AdBlock Plus extension... it eliminates ads and which in turn gives you faster page loads (you can subscribe to a blacklist, and you can whitelist sites you wish for the ads still to display (such as Neowin). NoScript is another useful extension, because it prevents scripts from loading.
WhoTheF
Do the following: In the address bar, type: about:config In the filter type: IP Look for: network.dns.disableIPv6 Double click so it's user set. Let me know if that works for you. -WTF

Fish
Install Opera along side Firefox. That way you can easily tell if it's a FX issue, or your internet connection. sudo apt-get install opera
tsupersonic
Agreed with Mr. Fish. Also the latest release of Firefox is 3.01. Remember you're using an alpha/beta version of firefox (3.1), which may not be stable.

thealexweb
The Firefox 3.1 development is getting more and more behind schedule, there still 15 points of passing the Acid 3 test and the code freeze for Beta 1 was supposed to be this month but that's had to be put back. BlueFiberOptics
I think the poster meant 3.0.1 instead of 3.
esquiso
3.1 is not a beta man its a final release, i already have opera installed and it was the same. 3.1 codename Shiretoko it's alpha. 3.0 codename Minefield it's a final release ;) So, if with Opera it's the same, you can exclude "Firefox problem" and turn it to "ISP problem". tsupersonic
Yeah, 3.1 is not a final release yet. 3.01 is the latest release. So, ISP problem. What ISP do you have and do you use a router? If you use a router, bypass the router and connect your computer directly to the modem.

The2
If you are using wireless, there are some chipsets like rt2500 that would connect at 1mbit, and if you change speed manually, they would work normally :)
