Author's Comments

As promised, SteelFlash Final is Finally here...

This project required me a lot of hard work, more than ever, because is not only my first Visual Style, but it also contains a new way to modify the appearance of the visual style: the Patchers.

Making Patchers is a bit complex, because the author have to think what resources will be replaced.

I've used this method because is really flexible and requires only a part of the normally required space.

This is the first application on visual styles (as far as I know), so please test it, and remember to backup your files, specially for the system files.

Download SteelFlash Final for Vista 32-bit

Haven't tried it on my system, but it looked pretty nice on my friend's x86 Vista box. On 64-bit there's still a few graphical glitches.

I had to edit like 50 system files to try get it to look like the one in the screenshot, and it was still buggy. This skin gets a thumbs down from me.

Really? It took me maybe 10 minutes to get everything the way I wanted and it's extremely customizable:

The start bar looks like crap, The buttons span over 2 types of start bar, it looks so ugly. Maybe if the dark grey bit at the bottom spanned accross the whole thing it would be alright.

Also the top of explorer looks so plain.

What do you mean by the top of explorer being plain?

The buttons in the actual theme (for the startbar) are centered, I don't know how to get mine centered.

Thank you for the support :)

I will release new things for the visual style, and a final x64 version when I will manage to fix the bugs :D

Nice very nice!!! Just perhaps a couple of request if these are doable..

1. Is there anyway to have a big taskbar like sidebar-example.jpeg, BUT looking like the first taskbar that defaults with the theme. Eg. it doesn't reach the end of the screen, dockish looking.

2. anyway to customize min and max buttons? ( + 1 for the plain top part ?

Love the windows flag button with no orb!
