It is possible, but I thin that if we have it in the repositories, that might suffice. Remember Linux isn't Windows and many Linux users would prefer no anti-virus at all. I think that having a choice might be a better option.

there is more virus and malware for linux than you think just take a look at this wikiapedia link has a list of some of them on linux http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Linux_computer_viruses

You've got to admit though, it's not worth installing an anti-virus unless you got a mail server or a network file server...
