SoulEata
I recently installed USB Knoppix 5.1.1 on my 1GB USB drive, and was able to boot into it, to my excitement. I've never used Linux, let alone this flavor, so I think the key question of importance is: how exactly do I get it to detect the internet? GatorV
Questions: What type of connection you have?, Wireless, Wired, etc? What type of connection you use? PPPoE, Cable, etc.? If you use wireless, do you have encryption? WEP? WPA?
SoulEata
Sorry for not being specific. I'm using a wireless connection, no encryption. I also tried Pendrivelinux 2008 and it failed to detect my wireless as well.
markwolfe Veteran Posted August 4, 2008 Veteran Share Posted August 4, 2008 Well, some wireless vendors play nice with the community and have released enough information for workable drivers. Some have not. What is your wireless chipset? It is a PCMCIA add-in card for a laptop? It is a USB adapter for a desktop? A little information would be very helpful.
