esei15 Posted August 2, 2008 Share Posted August 2, 2008 ok, i need a little help, ubuntu tries to scan my hard drive on start up but freezes at stage 1/5 100/291 and if i abort the scan before this point ubuntu loads but no programs open and it will eventually freeze after a minute or so of being logged on. can anyone help me? -esei Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

No Distro Trolling is allowed anyway, sounds like a possible hardware failure or something maybe... is your hardware in perfectly fine condition to your knowledge not too old or thrashed or anything ? It might be worth turning off compiz. You can go to System>Preferences>Appearance and the Visual Effects tab and select 'none'. Worth a go!
