Ragde
Have you tried TCP Optmizer?
neopets_35
Have you tried TCP Optmizer? Yeah, TCP Optimizer would make a great tool to tweak your overall internet speed. I've been using it for many years now.
xpgeek
I used to use TCP Optimizer on XP, but on Vista I find it makes no discernible difference whatsoever and even makes it slower.
br0adband
TCPOptimizer only functions on 2K, XP, XP x64, and 2K3. It won't have any effect on Vista (any edition) or 2K8 as those OSes have self-tuning TCP/IP stacks; there's nothing the end user can do that will make any substantial difference in the speeds or throughput. soldier1st
if your on vista you don't need those but even so they may help but i would only use them if your connection is having problems.
ddtt21958
If you are looking to speed up torrents, really the only thing you can do is go into your router/modem and configure the hardware manually. Search for your router model and "port forwarding" or "torrents" for some help with that. For basic web browsing, using Firefox along with AdBlock and NoScript really cuts back on unneeded bandwidth when loading most pages.
majortom1981
You can always get a hardware qos router that will prioritize the traffic. an example of one of these is the zyxel x-
