Ubuntu: BusyBox shows up on Live Disc boot

Recommended Posts

hai guys

Well my recently built machine is having trouble loading Ubuntu, I tried both 64 and 32 bit discs I still can't boot into Live Disc mode or install. Whenever I see the progress bar going back and forth I get taken to this thing called "Busy Box 1.1.3" some sort of ash prompt

Any idea why is this happening?

thanks

happened to me the other day, and it was the graphic card wasn't supported i still don't know why in other machines it boots well with "vesa" mode.

try searching for boot commands to boot with vesa rather than proprietary drivers.

hmm

I didn't think it'd be a graphics issue. I've futher researched this before your answer someone suggested switching SATA mode in BIOS from IDE to RAID would work but I've had no such luck.

well I found out what happened. Appararently Ubuntu doesn't like my SATA DVD RW drive

I used an ext dvd rw drive to load ubuntu and it worked. but my display and networking on ethernet doesn't seem to work..

I should of never bought an nvidia chipset T_T
