What's the problem with IMON? I use NOD v3 (and uTorrent 1.8) and don't have any problems...

http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=347539#p347539

Some changes were made to how utorrent calls sockets, and there's an underlying bug in NOD32 2.7's IMON that corrupts the URI (their support admitted to it).

You could either update to v3 or just disable IMON. Or even adding utorrent to the IMON exceptions would work.

If you're using anything other than uTorrent, you're missing out.

Just try it out. I doubt you won't like it.

That's what I've gotten from this thread, but would like somebody to expand upon it. I've mostly used P2P and while having used torrents before, I'm still fairly new to the whole thing. Maybe recommend a good all-in-one P2P/torrent client?

Well, in regards to P2P, I think the torrent protocol is the only one you really need to use. You can find torrents for just about everything. The only exception, for me, is that I also use SoulSeek whenever I need to find rare trance and stuff. Otherwise, I'd say you can find anything through torrents and uTorrent is the best client for Windows.
