thanks for the news..

just wanna ask, is this can be called release candidate or beta actually?

cause when the program is running, the 'beta' word is taken out..

Can anyone sell me on why I should use UTorrent over BitComet? The old, reliable 0.70 version. Not the newer one, which I have heard has some speed issues. I'm thinking of switching. One thing I don't like about BitComet is, it seems to slow down and sometimes stop my web browsing. It'll return server errors when I try to connect to sites. It usually clears up after awhile, though. Still, a little annoying. I suspect it's because I may not have the speed settings correct. My connection is 3 down, 768 up. What should my settings be, so I can download/seed the torrent while still being able to load sites somewhat fast? Anyone have issues with UTorrent slowing down browsing?

does uTorrent even support ipfilter's? or dedicated torrent networks for use in corporations? we always wanted that to distribute large files between locations in the past..

the 1.9.x versions are still alpha. a lotta changes have been made that affect performance. i'd stick to 1.8.2 if I were you.

Has anyone noticed that 1.8.2 seems to get dropped -- or is dropping -- from a lot of trackers when download a file lately?

I know... 1.9 and alpha but I dont wanna create a new thread for this...

Changes in Version 1.9 (build 14659), 2009-02-25

- Change: uTP variable packet sizes (decreases overhead)

- Change: added code for handing bundles with the bundle type encoded in the bundle

- Change: modified the bundle code to unconditionally pop up dialog box

- Change: modified installer to remove the extra 32 bytes for the bundle type when installing from bundle

- Change: added checkbox to the build torrent dialog so the user has the option not to rearrange the file order.

- Change: Modified the string for the "Start Seeding" checkbox to use 't' as the shortcut since 's' was being used by "Create and Save As..."

- Change: lengthen "About" dialog

- Fix: no longer shows "make this your default .torrent handler" when running a bundle

Nice to know version 1.9 is in the works, but I'll wait for it to be final, or at least beta. ^_^ :D

I am using it, it is in Beta, although at the site it says alpha. It works better than 1.8 x
