to able to enable LAN in fedora 9

today when i tried to enable LAN which is being depicted as eth0, i starting looking for an IP and after some time didnt get enabled.

earlier i was able to browse internet through the same ethernet.

what cud b the problem?

Ugh. Reading that makes my brain ache, and lessens the likelihood that I will reply. However, today must be a good day, because I am actually going to reply to this thread.

First thing, did you recently update? Or did you update anything in the past few days, then recently rebooted?

Also, post the output of a /sbin/ifconfig command in a terminal, so we can see what Fedora is showing for your ethernet. That will be helpful.

ifconfig is a standard tool, in /sbin/, so I find it hard to see how it could not be found.

Did you try using tab-completion, to avoid typo errors?

Type /sbi then hit [TAB]. Then, when it completes to /sbin/, type ifco and hit [TAB] again.
