Problem with msstyles

Recommended Posts

Alright, I have a very frustrating issue with my msstyles. Now, I've installed the proper Uxtheme Multi patcher and everything, but all of my themes are warped in that when they are first installed, my task bar is huge;

When it's supposed to look like;

As you can see, the windows icon thing seems to be what the size of the taskbar should be. If I go into advanced settings, and make the active title bar and menu around 21 instead of in the 30s, it does this;

So basically it's smaller and a good size, but the icon is still squashed up against the bottom and doesn't look right. If you look closely at the windows icon, you can see how that line down the middle is off.

This happens with every theme from every author, and I have no idea what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

something similar used to happen due to a "WindowMetrics glitch" or something liek that.

try this:

switch to classic view then, logoff

re-login, and delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics (everything inside WindowMetrics)

then logoff again (WindowMetrics will set to default values).

after re-login, apply your vs.

or:

apply your vs

aftert that, delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics (everything inside WindowMetrics)

then re-login or restart.

Unfortunately, that didn't work. I had my giant windows classic bar after deleting the windowmetrics and logging off, but the icons and images of open programs and such were small, as small as they should be. So I applied my visual style again and it's the same. Also, my windowmetrics file is back, I'm not sure if that was supposed to happen.

Your font sizes are larger than normal. It's probably knocking out the styles - reset them and see how it looks?
