»X«
added 24 minutes agoneowin.net Rating Level 3 out of 5 Safe but Worthless Most of the "news" are thinly-veiled paid ads, in that the some of the site and hosting are provided by the craptastic Stardock. A lot of the revenue from subscriptions and ads used the be used to support a porn site run by a couple of the Neowin Administrators (namely, Neobond). At any rate, the site is "safe", in that it's not dangerous to anything other than your sanity. If you seek useful information from the web, look elsewhere, as Neowin is mostly populated by idiot teenagers, fanboy power-tripping mods, and general douchbaggery abounds. Site as a whole is a complete waste of time, unless you seek advice on what type of underwear to buy, or if Myspace is cooler than Facebook. Bahaha. Fantastic.... :shiftyninja:

Tech God
I'm assuming this was reported during the time when there was a malicious AD on the bottom of neowin making everyones antivirus go off. Has been fixed for ages though.

Arkaic
McAfee are not what they used to be. As far as security goes, this is a safe website, the admins and staff work hard to see that. And there is a bad apple (or sometimes sarcastic apple) in every bunch.
pyther
WTF is a Yellow Security Web Site?! I have a Blue Security Web Site (I'm selling it for $250,000,000) as blue is better than yellow so it must be worth more than neowin!

redvamp128
It is probably because- of Intellitext which puts links on text. or Vibrant media links on the text. That is probably why Neowin got that rating- since the vendor can change the location of the link. Please correct me if I am wrong about that. redvamp128
Some companies consider it a security risk -- Vibrant Media--- Though some also consider Google Ads to be that as well. Though Mcafee considers Google adds to be green but not Vibrant Media.

Skulltrail-old
Okay it could be either two things: 1) It's a "beta" could just be a bug 2) McAfee works on a democratic like report system. You have to report a site in order for it to show up as a bad/malicious site. Perhaps some stupid punk reported it for fun and McAfee picked it up as a malicious site...
