Impact
I'm not sure if this is in the right section. I searched and didn't find a similar poll. So... do you have it auto-hide or not?
MasterC
I wish there was a vote for sometimes :p. When I'm gaming or designing / coding I have the dock hidden.
Impact
Haha, yeah, I'm trying to decide what I want to do because it sure saves screen real-estate on this Macbook, but it's kind of a pain to have to wait for it to come up whenever I need something. Ricardo Gil
I have it hidden, I don't even use it anyway. Quicksilver works faster.
Cadium
No, my dock is visible at all times at the bottom of the screen.
Scazza
Same as Cadium. Its always at the bottom as I usually open and close apps on a regular basis. May try the Quicksilver melark and have it hidden some time though.
Wannes
No, I don't have it hidden. It's at the center bottom and small.
Impact
Yeah, maybe I'll just make it smaller. It's kind of a pain having to put the mouse down there every time you need it. It sure does make your desktop look clean though!
sn00pie
I have it visible at all times. I've tried to take it off, but I prefer to have it there all the time.

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted September 17, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 17, 2008 Auto-hide with a small size. Not the largest screen, the dock ends up small anyway due to minimised windows and such. Edit: Here we go.
Kudos Veteran Posted September 17, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 17, 2008 Put it on the left. I do the same, good use of a widescreen display ;)
Steve
I do the same, good use of a widescreen display ;) I always wanted to embrace this - it makes the most sense, but I just can't bring myself to have the dock, alongside my CS3 toolboxes - it drives me insane. Do you folks who have your dock anchored left, not find this a big of a bug bare? Mine lives at the bottom...
Pink Floyd Veteran Posted September 17, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 17, 2008 mine's at the bottom
Quillz
I keep it at the bottom. And I don't like having it hidden. I've tried Quicksilver, but always just end up coming back to the Dock.
PyX
Mine's always visible at the bottom, but uses a different GUI :

Impact
I'm currently trying it on the side, but I don't like how it makes it a 2-d dock when you put it on the left automatically. It's also kind of awkward trying to choose programs on the side compared to the bottom.
deactivated_
Mine's always visible, but not much in it. Quicksliver does the rest.
Impact
Would using the 2d dock improve graphics performance (like making the genie effect when minimizing smoother)?
Menge
auto hide. on a 13" MacBook i need the screen real estate :\ specially considering i don't use the dock all that much. Expos?+Spaces for switching between applications and Spotlight for opening EVERYTHING
Impact
I'm not really liking having it on the left but it definitely does save space.
RevelMore
Yes, But on Windows. ObjectDock that is.
Impact
That would make sense. I never really saw the point of using a dock on windows. I just always used quicklaunch.
