Star Wars Force Unleashed NOT worth $60?

Recommended Posts

I am just going to rent it. Not worth it to spend $60 for a 10 hour game. How many times can you repeat it.

Does this have MP btw?

Only the wii version.....very, very, very, very stupid design decision they made.

It may be short, but i think there's a lot of replay value there with all the different skills and bonus objectives. Not to mention that it's just so fun. I don't regret my $60 purchase at all.

very true. even the training missions are excellent :)!

All I have to say is, I've played the first two levels and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I don't have time to sit and play for 10 hours straight so it will take me a little longer to finish.

My argument was ridiculous, and yet you're saying that because 'reputable' sources disagree with my opinion, I'm somehow wrong? $60 for 8 hours of gameplay is not good enough. If the likes of GTA4, Oblivion, COD4, Halo 3 etc can give us 50+ hours, why can't all games do that? Better yet, why not come up with your own argument rather than simply saying 'so-and-so says this and they must be right'?

EDIT: as for BioShock, no, it's not worth $60 since you could easily rent it for one night and get exactly the same experience out of it as someone who paid full price.

So the only yardstick to measure the quality of a game is it's length? That seems extremely narrow minded. The quality of the story doesn't matter? the graphics? the entire production? I can beat Super Mario Bros in probably half an hour, but it's an infinitely more enjoyable experience than most "50+ hour" games.

oh and if you're saying you got 50+ hours out of Halo 3, CoD 4 or GTA4 you're a liar, all those games can be beaten in far less time than that and if you're counting MP in that number that's not really fair because then the game could essentially be never ending.

$60 means a lot to some people, so the lack of MP may stop them from picking the game up. That's understandable. The real tragedy is how expensive games have become. $60 is just crazy. I've got a lot of games, and I shudder to think how much they all add up to. I definitely recommend renting TFU if buying is out of the question, I'm having a great time with it.

It's not narrow minded at all, it's an expectation I expect a game to fulfill when I splash out so much money on it and the console. We talk about next-gen games but what's the point when, as you said, they last far less time and have far less appeal than the classics that you can pick up for nix?

And how is counting multiplayer unfair? It's all part of the same experience. If the developer couldn't be bothered to include multiplayer after creating such a stupidly short story then it's just a waste of money. As I said earlier, you know something's up when you get more value for money from a theme park than you do from a video game.

You could buy a copy after a few months? It would be cheaper then.

Halo 3 has been out for just under a year and is still selling for $60 at Wal-mart and sells for over $40 on eBay and Gears of War is $40 at Wal-mart and as low as $25 on eBay. A game that old still costing $40 brand new? Surely this should be part of a platinum hit or something. $40 for me is still a little high, especially since the game is almost two years old. So a few months, unless the game is unpopular, won't make a difference. Star Wars: TCS sells for $50 new, and so on and so forth.

Another over hyped game, not bad but not awesome like the previews and all the "ultra-mega-turbo physics engine" sh**t suggested, so, worth $60? dunno, never paid for it :p

So back in the day Daikatana deserved more money than Half-Life or System Shock 2?

Don't know, never played it. Never even heard of it. But I hope you're not trying to say that the only thing I look for in a game is the time it takes to complete, because that would be seriously moronic.

Everything you have said points to that conclusion.

But everything I've said doesn't equate to everything I think... unless you really want me to spill my entire brain out onto the forums, I think you should take what someone says for what it is rather than take it as the absolute picture and go to make daft assumptions about the way they look to spend their money.

played it... beat it and I must say the ending is pretty neat. Props to the cinematics and props to some of the cameo appearances.. Game IS worth the money. It is vast is playablility. Yes, if you want to beat the game in 2 hours, you can play on easy to just run through the levels, however if you want a challenge, play on hard and try to fight every enemy and keep leveling up and buying force powers. thats when the game can be worth the buy.

Agreed, it doesnt, but it surely equates to some things you think. And honestly, how can you expect we give you the benefit of the doubt since you are beign onesided? Personally I would pay $60 for 7 masterfully executed hours than for a 50 hours bore. Thats just me of course.

And I'd rather go for neither and instead look for a game with a better compromise, but going back to the topic at hand, TFU isn't masterfully executed so it doesn't fall into that argument.

I don't need to ****ing play it. I've played the demo, I said what I thought people would say about the full game, and I was right. You throw enemies around for 8 hours. Yeah, really ****ing brilliant - definitely a creation worth ranking alongside BioShock amirite?
