Kushan
Halo 3 has been out for just under a year and is still selling for $60 at Wal-mart and sells for over $40 on eBay and Gears of War is $40 at Wal-mart and as low as $25 on eBay. A game that old still costing $40 brand new? Surely this should be part of a platinum hit or something. $40 for me is still a little high, especially since the game is almost two years old. So a few months, unless the game is unpopular, won't make a difference. Star Wars: TCS sells for $50 new, and so on and so forth. Moral of the story? Don't shop at wal-mart. Look online for the best deals, in the UK the RRP for most games is about ?40-50, but usually they sell for around ?35 on release day (retail stores). Online, this can drop to ?29.99 or less, if you're lucky (I got COD4 for ?25 about 2 weeks after release). A few weeks later, prices online drop to around ?25 or even ?20 if you keep an eye out. I've seen Halo 3 being sold for ?9.99 new in a lot of places recently. Hell, I was able to snag Too Human for ?20 new and that's not been out long at all. It really pays to look around. Anyway, getting back on topic: I would definitely say this game wasn't worth the full price. It's fun, but then throws stupidity at you that rapes all the fun you've been having. Like a boss that just doesn't let you get near them for a good ol' sabre fight, forcing you to use cheap tactics to beat them. It's the kind of game I'd contemplate picking up for ?20, but I wouldn't go above that. Wait until it's on budget, or, rent it.
Mistah Mallory
I don't need to ****ing play it. I've played the demo, I said what I thought people would say about the full game, and I was right. You throw enemies around for 8 hours. Yeah, really ****ing brilliant - definitely a creation worth ranking alongside BioShock amirite? But you didn't say that, you just said "10 hours of gameplay is never worth $60." and assertion so easily proven wrong that it baffles my mind someone would say it with a straight face. what
But you didn't say that, you just said "10 hours of gameplay is never worth $60." and assertion so easily proven wrong that it baffles my mind someone would say it with a straight face. I was comparing BioShock and TFU for their level of detail etc, not the gameplay time, which you and others were doing earlier. I wonder how much longer you can stretch this pointless argument. TheFlusher
Other than lock ups and glitches in the game, It's still a fun game to play.
+Mystic MVC Posted September 20, 2008 MVC Share Posted September 20, 2008 I really enjoy this game, basically Devil May Cry meets Star Wars. The cinematics and combat are just fun and the leveling system brings back the KOTOR feeling. I beat the first two bosses tonight and got a bunch of challenges. I'm playing on medium and I really like how the game really ramps up the difficulty between the first boss and the second boss (not counting vader-tutorial). Rookas
I've upped the difficulty for my next play through and it's really starting to feel like Ninja Gaiden with force powers, and there is nothing wrong with that at all.
Budious
I've upped the difficulty for my next play through and it's really starting to feel like Ninja Gaiden with force powers, and there is nothing wrong with that at all. I started my first play through on Sith Lord difficulty and it has taken me about 14 hours of gameplay to reach the beginning of Mission 7. I can see how if you played it on easy and completed the game in 10 hours you may not think it's worth $60 but the hard difficulty definitely makes you think and devise tactics to pass levels and bosses. I'm disappointed by the lack of multiplayer, and some obvious bugs, such as my character or enemies getting stuck in map objects, but it's a pretty decent game overall. Rookas
I've gotten lucky and haven't experienced any bugs or glitches. I got the PS3 version, but they should be identical. And yes, playing on Sith Lord makes the game a lot longer, you really do have to use some serious strategy.

I'm playing on the PS3 version too, but in one spot my character fell completely off the map and into a "white void." In other spots, I jumped into plants on Felucia and the character polygons became meshed with the plant, and would not reset character position or let it break loose. Those bugs are few and far between though, my only major gripes are with the save system which doesn't save often enough for the hard difficulty, but I suppose that in itself makes it more difficult. That is what I meant to say before! Ninja Gaiden was ok for me but the SW feel totally sold me and I love it. As for the occasional bug where an enemy gets stuck in a certain part of the map. With all the various moves and the freedom those movements give to the player, I expect things like that to happen once and a while. The story has really sold me so far, its been great as I just watched the big Darth Vader scene and you (you know what I mean). Has anybody beaten the force push challenge in the training room by the way?
Rookas
I keep forgetting about the training room stuff, i've been absorbed into the campaign. See, now that will add even more play to the game. Totally worth the money.

+Mystic MVC Posted September 21, 2008 MVC Share Posted September 21, 2008 I'm glad to know that I've just extended the game for you guys! I always do those sorts of things because they are usually worth something, in this case achievements. I've received one achievement for just doing all the training ones. I haven't completed all the challenges yet as I haven't had the time so we shall see what happens there.
Kushan
I don't really class games with multiple difficulties as having "replay value", nor does the odd "bonus objective" or "collect X of these". Replay value (for me) is having different options along the way, different outcomes, different possibilities. The problem with TFU is that once you've got all your force powers and fought a few enemies, you've pretty much seen all the gameplay the game has to offer. And I'm sorry, but having a "stupid hard" difficulty setting doesn't count towards extending the game. Sure, it might take you longer to finish it, but that's because you're playing over the same bits again and again. If you were adapt enough, it wouldn't take you much longer than if you were playing it on easy (just account for enemies having extra health you need to take off). It'd be like me releasing a game that had a really really difficult boss with millions of hit points and saying it has "days" of gameplay.
Rappy Veteran Posted September 21, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 21, 2008 I played some more last night and found proxy really easy in the end as Darth Maul...granted when he starts doing combos I was getting a bit annoyed!...time to bring down a ship! :p
Xero
^ Heh yea, only thing I'm ****ed about now is how Lucas bent over for the Wii version. There are dozens of playable characters, Luke, Vader, Maul, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, ect but not for the PS3 or Xbox version. Those bastards :(
