emdiesse
Windows is able to group windows in the task bar automatically or when there is quite few and it is for the best. However is there a way I can tweak XP so that I can group the windows I would like to group. For example, say I have Firefox, Chrome, IE open for some strange reason it would be great to group them under a taskbar button called browser... Or maybe if you are using GIMP and those hundreds of windows are everywhere in the task bar i could group them as GIMP (I know there is a dewierdifyer, but this would be cool for other applications aswell!) markwolfe Veteran Posted September 18, 2008 Veteran Share Posted September 18, 2008 I'm not sure if Microsoft's virtual desktops powertoy would help. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx In Linux, I use the virtual desktops on occasion if I have a large variety of apps open (like you mentioned, GIMP with several images open). I put them on a separate desktop, and the taskbar is cleared up when I am on a different desktop, then the GIMP items are shown, and the others excluded when switching back to the GIMP desktop. I don't know if the Microsoft solution does this, too, or not. But since you don't have any other replies yet, I thought this would be one thing for you to check out. Hope it helps.
